Get Your Score Cards, eBay Fall Changes Are Here

eBay reminded sellers of changes announced in July that have rolled out or are due to roll out in the coming weeks, and sellers may need a score card to keep track of this - the third Seller Release of 2010. Some new policies affect all listings, such as the standardized shipping display eBay will add to all listings. Other policies affect a narrow category of products, such as iPod/MP3 players, GPS, and DVDs, categories where sellers will be required to use the eBay catalog when listing products.

Fall changes that have already rolled out include an "Automated Answers" Smart FAQ and availability of ShipCover shipping insurance. eBay is also currently testing moving the Ask a question link lower on the View Item page.

Beginning the week of September 7, eBay sellers will be able to specify shipping discounts through the Shipping Calculator and have them show up in search results and on the item page. Another change going into effect that week is the availability of a new analytics application to track the performance of listings;
